Spider

By  Alice Kin 2025

Each month I studied a plant, observed, ruminated, and collected samples for the Lab, making inks, lakes, pigments.
This series of small paintings is called ‘Seeing Our Unseen Friends’ - beginning with a ritual in the woods asking Spirits of the Woods to safely show themselves in the play of ink on paper.

Spider has balance, fingers on the pulse, a sensory knowing what is to come… a spider sense perhaps. You may find proximity a bit sticky, one limb or another caught in a web.
