Splash! by Karen Whiterod is a large-scale mobile, the form takes inspiration from the trajectory of water droplets moving through the air when a pebble hits the water. Splashes with dye are applied to the translucent nylon. The nylon used are offcuts from earlier work with nylon, which have been cut to these shapes. Stainless steel wire holds the droplet shapes balanced in the air so they move freely. Splash! is 2 metres in depth/height, so requires a large space, it is photographed during an exhibition at the Forum in Norwich.
