By
Charys Wilson
2017
This series of drawings was created in 2017 while Charys took part in a 3 month long residency at TAKT AIR in Berlin.
They were created using Indian ink and conte crayon, working in a printmakers mindset, charys worked in inversion, turning the entire white page black, allowing areas of light to remain untouched.
Within the black areas, finger marks can be seen, echoing mankind’s mark on nature. This series aimed to evoke a sense of empathy for all life forms, highlighting them.
