Stone Faces

By Brighid Black 2012

Ikuko Tsuchiya

These photopolymer prints were made from photograms during the period of my AA2A residency at Teesside University. The photograph was taken during the Shadows exhibition in the Constantine Gallery, Middlesbrough, at the end of the residency. This was a group exhibition alongside the three other AA2A artists. One of the printing plates was subjected to a process of gradual destruction of the image. I was interested in the use of photography as a forensic tool and its ability to reveal or conceal.
