Stories in my shed

This work was developed for the project 'Sanctuary' which included a residency in Neyri, Kenya. The garden shed has come to represent a place of retreat a 'sanctuary ' however in this case the outside of the shed is wallpapered (Silverbeach) as a way of expressing uncertainty that those that are exiled may feel. The inside of the shed reflects the inside of a home, lined with cardboard and collaged with Western magazines reflecting the incongruity between different worlds.
