Commission alongside artist Sian Hughes as artists whose practice includes participation. Brief was to produce artwork which provides a coherent identity inside the unit, engaging patients in the creative process through practical workshops. Using the garden as inspiration, we worked with paper porcelain clay, cyanotypes and book making to deliver a series of accessible and engaging workshops. The resulting artworks formed the basis of the final design and were worked into the installation.The main artwork in the community room is a large, hand painted bespoke light box installation which hold the paper porcelain clay suspended above lights. Echos of the artworks and design were also installed in other key points throughout the unit.
