Acrylic on found board that had been washed up on the beach after a storm.
According to tradition Saint Anthony was an early Christian ascetic, and was tormented by demons as he fasted in a desert cave.
Made in reference to medieval art, and an exploration of the subject through a contemporary lens.
There is a a hidden toad in the image, a traditional symbol of the devil, though the image is otherwise empty of figures or activity. Sometimes a toad is just a toad.
