"The Christmas Factory"

By Robert Sherratt 2020 - 2023

Dimensions
60 x 80cm

A production line worker stands frozen, reduced to machinery whilst engaged in an obscure processing task, behind him a monstrous turkey rises from an industrial pipe. Santa’s helper perches on a box whilst a missile glides over the factory floor and out of the picture. In the centre distance two zombie Christmas trees suggest the inverse of Christmas cheer. A rusted emergency stop button at the heart of the painting offers little hope of an end to the consumer capital carousel of over production and excess consumption. Merry Christmas!
