The Cut

The Cut explores the fragile relationship between human intervention and the natural environment. A fragmented coastal landscape is divided by a stark, industrial form, while the sea pushes and flows around it. Layers of water, rock and shifting colour suggest a landscape under pressure — altered, disrupted and continually reshaped by both human activity and natural forces. The painting reflects on environmental damage, resilience and the uneasy boundary between the built world and nature.
