The Lightvessel Historical Society

By Katy Beinart 2011

Steve McPherson

A performance carried out during a residency on the LV21 Lightship, moored at Gillingham, Kent, with Fiona Long, Sarah Britten-Jones and Steve McPherson. The performance included readings from 'found' diaries detailing the experiences of operators on the Lightship during World War Two, and the romances that grew on board the ship. A local journalist reported the performance as a genuine historical society. The residency was organised by Figure Ground and funded by Arts Council England.
