The Other Excursion

Intervention for b-side The Excursionist where I walked The Isle of Portland Coastal Path. These were my souvenirs, my mementoes of this journey. These were the detritus of the human, dropped, blown, carried and left. The objects reminded me of other places, taking me away from Portland, taking me away from my place, the here and now. These things took me to other islands, through their associations, Mallorca, Capri and tropical islands. They reminded me of others experiences and celebrations - the can, a burnt out canister, happenings - danger tape, modern industry - the vibrant colours of the chocolate wrappers. All this happened but not to me.
