The radical artist, Dathini

By Victoria Malcolm 2012 - 2015
A portrait of a political artist I got to know in Cape Town, Dathini Mzayiya kindly gave me a copy of his stencilled selfportrait, which became the basis for this card reduction relief print, as its bold graphic content lents itself well to the process and emphasises his revolutionary look and outlook. I also used his stencil image in 'Salt Garden', a temporary drawing using salt solution on the pavement in Johannesburg. Thanks Dathini. The print is an edition of 7.
