The Winter Tree

By  Rachel Gibson 2008 - 2012

Rachel Gibson

The Winter tree started as a piece of work in 2008 with a chance encounter; finding a derelict, burnt out house by a remote pathway. Using charred wood from the fire damaged building, I drew a winter tree on the bare plaster and brick wall. The progess of this drawing is recorded through its life time and these phographic images have been made into a book. The effective end of the work came with the building's demolition in 2011. The Artists book remains the only visual record.
