Through Autumn Rain

This work references my little perceptions on a local daily walk with my dog in all weathers . I have to  observe and  experience the place and atmosphere first hand before returning to my studio where I work immediately and intuitively from memory. I try to parallel my walking experience with my method of using a combination of wet and dry media, layering and scraping back with an endeavour which parallells my journey of felt experience.  I strive to capture a sense of truth about the relationship between self and place as I consciously observe and reflect on the meaning of the images that emerge subconsciously.

These images reveal notions of impermanence and a liminal sense of identity in shifting light and weather.; an everyday personal history that straddles the line betweeb nostslgic association and something unknown
