'Tideline Toy'.

By  Tim Pugh 2017
The photograph of the artwork is of a drawing of a discovered abandoned toy soldier found on the beach at St Bees in West Cumbria. The soldier was sketched onto a sheet of plastic found on the same beach using a marker pen and the drawing was then adhered onto a beach groyne. The drawing drew lots of attention from passers by and highlighted the perils of plastic degradation on the beaches. The toy evoked feelings of melancholy as it was either abandoned or lost on the sands.
