Tin Mine Engine House at Ding Dong

By Phil Whiting 1991 - 1992

For many years in my attempt to capture the raw beauty of Cornwall's rich post-industrial hinterland I would often make large heavy paintings on board with a mixture of mine mineral debris found on site with oil paint. This work although smaller than usual is an example. It was praised in Art Review magazine (Nov 1994) by editor David Lee in his review of the ‘Responses to Landscape’ exhibition at the Beatrice Royal Art Gallery, Eastleigh, Hampshire in 1994.
