‘Trace fossils’ is an audiovisual work that explores the traces that human activity leaves behind through our extraction of the earth’s resources. Tracking a path through the North Yorkshire Moors, a land that shaped and was shaped by the industrial age, the work reflects on how nature reacts, reclaims and recovers from such interventions.
Commissioned by the British Academy funded project ‘Mining for Meaning: the Geoethics of Extractive Industries’.
