Ulterior Voices

My most current project is a series of illuminated glass panels, ‘Ulterior Voices’. I have selected a number of deceased inspirational women from the history of literature and culture who in different ways are uniquely recognised by their creative voice and specific era in women’s history. Each piece works as a memorial to these women who were forced to conceal their true identity, through performance, writing and creative output. Through this they hide tragic personal lives, which mainly remained a secret until their death.
