Filmwoche is a series of works developed from research about the 'Zwickau 3', a group of neo Nazi terrorists who carried out a series of racist murders over a ten year period. Financing their activities by bank robberies, their spree came to an end in November 2011, when two of the three were found dead in a burning wohnmobil after having allegedly killed one another. The third gang member then blew up the apartment they had been living in before handing herself into the authorities.
The case continues to resonate in Germany where allegations that the gang were assisted in their lengthy fugitive period by the former East German Authorities, or alternatively by a network of undercover agents, have remained toxic and topical in a country still coming to terms with its recent history.
