A corten steel sculpture based on house design relevant to a specific site. Commissioned to produce a number of small scale intervention works within the new Hallam fields development, Birstall, Leicester. These viewpoint works are based on existing designs for the homes being built on the development. They will be integrated into the built environment over the next 10 years commencing with their introduction during Architecture Week June 2007. These pieces will be located to focus a viewpoint on particular aspects of nearby architectural features and landscape. This is the second of ten works commissioned. Corten Steel, also known as 'weathering steel' changes colour during the initial weathering process giving it a rusty look. However the material will seal itself after a period of time and will not rust but will remain permanent and maintenance free.
