Virtual Eye project update Twitter @VirtualEyeArt

Using Twitter, I invited participants to share objects as a non-verbal vocabulary with which to describe themselves. They discuss the objects selected – what they mean to them, and what they might say about them. For each individual, I will curate a selection of images from their photographed objects. Conversation 01 and 02 are `live' and you can follow, and join in, on Twitter using @VirtualEyeArt Throughout the creative process, objects will be sorted and resorted, creating four representations of each participant. The digital curation presents each collection as a distinct set and then intermixes them with one other so emphasising the complexity and interaction of the separate aspects. I will translate the final selection of 2D objects into a 3D virtual reality. Each individual will be represented by four collections presented in a glass box. This will be animated to reveal all sides of the virtual box. The individual is confined yet visible, vulnerable to both comments, compliment, and criticism. I intend to investigate the paradox of the digital memory that fades quickly with constant streaming, yet archives completely in the `big data' pool, collecting for the future digital archaeologist.
