Ethel Moorhead, was the first Scottish suffragette to be force fed. 'The Cat & Mouse Act' or officially known as the Prisoner's Temporary Discharge of Ill Health Act allowed the temporary release of prisoners taking part in hunger strikes. Once the suffragette had regained their strength, they would be rearrested. Ethel Moorhead took advantage of her temporary release to explore a potential fire bombing opportunity at Traquair House.
