Waiting : Sofa by the River

Whilst on a walk I discovered an old leather sofa positioned somewhere in South Somerset next to a small river, surrounded by trees and vegetation. Somehow it represented waiting in isolation, time flowing by, for the pandemic to end. The image with some words are currently being prepared to hang as part of the Noticeboard project of OSR Projects, West Coker, Somerset. The noticeboard outside the venue has featured changing posters of various artists work during its closure due to lockdown.

Cymba Transtemporalis - Lyme Bay

This is a painting of two layers relating to the experience and limitations of communication via Skype. The shadowy 'figure' is trapped behind a screen, obscured by the pointillist/divisionist dots of light. The colours suggest a nocturnal view, dominated by orange, which reflects of the ubiquitous colouring of the sodium vapour streetlamp.
