Was the Wheel Really Such a Good

The text on the work is the same as the title and invites the viewer to actively question the 'good' of an invention that is almost unquestioned - the wheel. Here Ann brings that notion to life with the entire work swirling around a central eye which, by giving life to an abstract concept, begins to lead us towards the way in which Ann perceives the vehicles around her. Unable to clearly make out the form or speed of cars and unable to see a driver within Ann naturally imbues the vehicle with the life, the force and the moral status that most reserve for the driver. When seen from this perspective, as in the work, the car itself becomes more menacing and dangerous.
