Wild boars were often depicted on Celtic Crosses. The sculptor was inspired to carve the boar after seeing wild boar in a wood in Germany where they were running free. The sculpture is currently part of the Ronald Rae Sculpture Exhibition at The Falkirk Wheel in Central Scotland. For sale.
