Work Play

Work Play installation. 9 x 6ft spikes, and 4 x CCTV films. Placement of spikes vary depending on gallery. The spikes are from the SPIKE IT project.Where empty spike files were placed in offices for workers to impale waste paper. Exploring both the cathartic act and as a signifier for office activity.The resulting spikes are time lines that each reflect office activity and culture. Each spike 'in residence' was recorded on CCTV, or photographically. Other works in this series include archival prints on aluminium.
