This commission was a response to both the form and the function of the new Crafts Study Centre building. Unmade/made; unfinished/finished; raw/formed. I wanted to create a frontage that would complement the scale of the building and at the same time soften the clean crisp lines of the façade. The large vertical forms emphasise the entrance and represent the raw material of construction. They are encircled by flowing willow forms, which link the frontage to the entrance and also represent the finished product.
