Opening of Adam Kalinowski's solo exhibition at Jerzy Piotrowicz's Gallery Pod Koroną, 14.12.2022-15.01.2023.

The Beginning and End Point of an Open Colour Composition – ‘Composition X’

The exhibition ‘XYZ 2’ refers to the online presentation ‘XYZ’, whose photographic material I collected in Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona, USA in February and March 2017, where I took thousands of photographs of the desert terrain. All the material was then compiled and made available in November 2020 in the form of an online presentation called ‘XYZ’. Between 2017 and 2020 a photographic project was created in the desert in the Petrified Forest National Park. The project consisted of three large letters X, Y and Z where each letter was of the size of approximately 100 m by 80 m and they were photographed in three different locations in the park. Each of the letters consists of words inscribed in the elements of the capital letters, which comprise thousands of photographs, all of which were geotagged. The entire photographic material after being assembled into words and then into capital letters was uploaded and visible on Google Earth from November 2020 until around summer 2021 but was removed by a Google webmaster. In addition to this project, I also took landscape photography in different parts of the park, showing its uniqueness at changing times of the day. This was a unique situation where, as a resident of the park, I had the opportunity to stay there all the time, also at night. Detailed description of the XYZ project from the online presentation:
