The artwork is a photograph of a temporary mixed media intervention created in response to finding an old gas main post near Cleator Moor,West Cumbria, during a bike ride. The post overlooked a grassy field and had an empty front cavity. I took a photograph of the field and next day inserted a copy of the photograph into the gas main post . I wanted to give the impression of another time, perhaps of a parallel reality of the same location, and also suggesting some kind of visual portal.
