FOR ANN'S TABLE
By Sue Coulson | 2023Rhythmic Canopy, 2025 by Sammy Lai
Rhythmic Canopy explores the balance between chaos and harmony through layered brushstrokes and flowing lines. Inspired by the fluidity and tension found in Miles Davis’s music, the work unfolds like an improvised rhythm where colours merge, separate, and converse with one another. The composition evokes light filtering through overlapping canopies, dynamic yet serene, inviting viewers to reflect on how emotion, memory, and environment intertwine.
