John Vincent
John Vincent is an artist and filmmaker based in Letchworth Garden City whose practice bridges photography, video & audio, digital art and painting. His work explores the eerie atmosphere of modern life, often through dreamlike and surreal imagery which is rooted in place, the fictions of memory, and the solidity of archives.
He has developed a distinct visual language informed by suburbia and the landscapes that surround it, local histories, and imagined futures. His work frequently delves into contemporary suburban Gothic, layering elements of horror, science fiction, and time travel with a particular British sensibility.
Vincent has exhibited across the UK and internationally, receiving commissions from organisations such as Electric Medway, Broadway Gallery, and Eastcheap Projects. Through collaborative and research-based projects, he continues to explore the intersection of the real world and technology through narrative based work, and spatial identity inviting viewers into mysterious, often unsettling worlds just on the edge of recognition.
