The Axis Fellowship 2024 - Guest Selectors

This year we're thrilled to be working with the following artists and curators who will help us with our Axis Fellowship selection process.

Harriet Bowman

Harriet Bowman is a multidisciplinary artist based in Bristol born in North Devon. Bowman’s practice takes the form of writing, sculpture, audio, performance and installation pieces. Harriet was one of last year's Axis Fellowship cohort and recently won the Mark Tanner sculpture award 2024-25.

Diana Ali

Diana Ali is a Visual Artist, Independent International Curator, a lecturer, mentor, workshop leader, TV presenter, and is on the board for Nottingham Women's Centre and Axis. She advocates for voices to be heard in the visual arts through her work, practice and connections with other sectors.

Sunshine Wong and Zoë Sawyer (co-directors at Bloc Projects)

Sunshine is an artworker and researcher. She completed her doctoral thesis on social practice in 2019 and her current practice is situated in infrastructures, critical care approaches, and co-vulnerabilities in urgent times. She irregularly convenes TL;DR, a slow reading group that questions how contemporary art makes a place for itself in public life.

Zoë is a curator and creative practitioner working between the West Midlands and Yorkshire. She has over 15 years curatorial experience working within, and helping to collectively build small and larger-scale organisations such as Project Space Leeds and The Tetley (2007-2017), alongside independent projects. She most recently worked as Offsite Curator at Eastside Projects, Birmingham (2018-2023).
