Blood Seeps Between Bodies, 2024

Anna F Hughes

Digital animation exploring the affect of blood, and what it means to make digital blood as a body who's blood circulates insufficiently. This digital blood circulates more efficiently than my own, it allows me to reach out to other bodies through affect and cyberspace's malleability. Although the work addresses the horror of blood, it emphasises the systemic rhythms and flows of being a body be it in cyberspace or elsewhere.

Black Rock Beachcombers, 2021 - 2024

Alex May and Anna Dumitriu

Black Rock Beachcombers are three innovative marker sculptures created for the new boardwalk at Black Rock on Brighton’s eastern seafront. Combining 3D photogrammetry scanning and 3D modelling these 3D printed digital collages reveal hidden stories about the nature, the people and the engineering of this historic and important coastal location. Commissioned by Brighton & Hove City Council as part of the Black Rock Rejuvenation Project, the works were made following discussions with residents and stakeholders and all the elements are very meaningful to the city. The sculptures are designed by Brighton-based, internationally renowned artists Anna Dumitriu and Alex May.

The Black Rock Rejuvenation project is part of a large-scale regeneration effort to transform the city’s eastern seafront and enable further development in the future.

The project commissioned by Brighton & Hove City Council. 3D printing and fabrication by Art Intelligence.
