Installation from 'No Sleep Just Clouds' by Babeworld, at Art House, Wakefield, 2024
An artist's guide to perfectionism—with Babeworld!
Do you struggle with perfectionism? Are you on a mission to create a perfect piece of art?
In 'No Sleep Just Clouds' art collective, Babeworld explores the experiences of autistic, marginalised and wider neurodivergent people in the creative sector and the struggle to thrive and be ‘productive’ under capitalism. Taking visual inspiration from anime, Twitch, gaming and pop culture, the storytelling experience follows a protagonist on a deep-dive into the obsession of providing a distraction–in this case, clouds–in place of making art.
In this event in the Mental Health for Artists season, Babeworld will reflect on their recent projects, and what they've learned about the hunt for **perfection**.
This event is FREE to join.

ABOUT BABEWORLD
Babeworld are an art collective based across Stoke-on-Trent and London. Babeworld’s work entangles popular-culture inspired film, installation and sound design to interrogate themes of political and societal identity, disability/access, neurodivergence, sex work and race. Babeworlds research explores what it means to make, participate in andspectate art as marginalised individuals. Babeworld are consistently motivated by the questions - how can we make work for the CEX and Tumblr generation who may not feel comfortable in a traditional gallery? And how can we get another little residency to play board games and TTRPGS?
