Originally from India, I have been living in England for more than 20 years now. My art while drawing on craft based practices, is a way for me to weave threads between my Indian cultural heritage and my lived experience in England.

I am a multi-media visual artist with a practice rooted in nature and informed by ancient craft practices. I work with natural materials while exploring connections between ecology and cultural identity. My methods are slow, labour intensive, and attuned to my local environment, with material integrity, and respect for nature being paramount.  

I also draw upon autoethnographic elements influenced by my rich and multilayered South Asian cultural heritage, and my life in England.  

I aim to create contemplative works and participatory workshops  that invite reflection on belonging, sustainability, and our shared relationship with the natural world. 

Lived Experience

Originally from India, I have been living in England for more than 20 years. I therefore have two parts of the world that I consider home and feel a belonging to. I came to art much later in life which organically led to a conscious career change. My family consists of my husband and teenage son who fully embrace, encourage  and enjoy my creative adventures as much as me.
