Kofo Nolla-Omidiran

UXBRIDGE
My name is Kofo Nolla-Omidiran, also known as O'Knolla, I am British-Nigerian artist and designer based in West London.

I am a multidisciplinary artist exploring identity, culture, community, and storytelling through textiles, surface pattern, and mixed media. My work is deeply inspired by my Nigerian heritage, particularly the visual language of West African patterns, including Nsibidi and Uli symbols, which influence my use of shape, rhythm, and storytelling.

Through thread, paint, texture, and abstraction, I create expressive modern visual narratives that explore movement, memory, playfulness, and human connection. Using layered materials and tactile surfaces, I reflect individuality, shared experiences, and the emotional energy found within communities and everyday spaces.

I see my work as a playful remix of that legacy. The markings I create are not exact translations, but modern interpretations of something ancestral — flowing through me in ways that feel both subconscious and intentional. It is part spiritual vibration, part creative release, blending tradition with a contemporary visual language.

My art invites interpretation. I want viewers to connect with the symbols in their own way — whether they spark a memory, feel spiritual, or simply catch the eye through colour, texture, or form. The work remains open, playful, and exploratory, encouraging curiosity, feeling, and personal meaning.
