Ines R. Amado

Leighton Buzzard
Inês Amado research based practice is concerned with the social and political aspects of everyday lives and inhabited spaces. Her work is inclusive and participative.

My work involves organising, curating and participating in projects that embrace site-specific installation, sculpture, performance, video, sound and text. During the last 15 years, participation and community involvement have become enormously relevant within my research and output. My work focuses on the juxtaposition of past and present, the historicity of place and the personal stories that are carried by its inhabitants and mark a space in time, by enquiring the fragmentary aspects of those particular and fleeting moments is a crucial aspect focussed in my work. I hold a Deep Listening certificate, (created by composer Pauline Oliveros), thus my work is informed by this practice.
