In the work, Five Speeches, Stobbart re enacts the meticulously observed body language of public speeches by Kate Aidie, Lady Gaga, Roy Hattersley, Mark Leckey and President Obama. Stobbart has had major national and international rejections, including Artangel Open (2013), Daiwa Foundation Art Prize (2012), Jerwood Drawing Prize (2011), SPILL National Platform, London (2011), Bristol Live Open Platform, Arnolfini Gallery (2010), International Streaming Festival, The Hague (2010), New Contemporaries, London (2009), Madrid Abierto (2008), Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead (2008) and Saatchi Gallery, London (2008).
