Kate Stobbart

Without question one of the most indecisive artists of her generation Kate Stobbart is influenced by a strong sense of inadequacy and a deep-seated desire to succeed. 

Recent work (2025/6) has explored the role of non-verbal interpersonal communication within social settings -alongside fragments of mobile phone calls that were overheard in public. 

Her current focus (2026/7) is now on hesitations and hesitant forms of communication, and will re-visit hand gestures.  

Stobbart's recent live piece AAAAAGGGHH 2 - THE SEQUEL (a collective single scream to mark Trump's ongoing presidency) was at Cobalt Studios, Newcastle upon Tyne, for The Late Shows (2026)
