Sarah White

London
I am interdisciplinary artist working across movement research, performance making, writing and installation. My work engages with the affective experience of faith and doubt, and performance as a site of moving through desire and resistance.

My research thinks with, beside and between movement research and faith practices, exploring the feedback loops and accumulative dialogues between them.

I make semi-improvised performances which explore imitation, change, dialogue and entangled empathy. I collect ancient stories and builds new mythologies: hovering in the gap between reality and fiction, belief and disbelief.

Lived Experience

I have fourteen years of experience working in the arts, and have an MA in Fine from Chelsea College of Art, and an MFA in Creative Practice from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music Dance. I have shown work across the UK, with recent public performances programmed by Future Ritual, Nomas* Projects for Art Night Dundee, Religion and Art Live, the Goethe Institut, Royal College of Art, Society for the Study of Theology, Koppel Project and The Swiss Church.

Since 2012 I have worked for the grassroots arts charity, Morphe Arts, where I provide support for early to mid career artists. This includes running an artist residency programme in Dalston, East London.

I am the editor of the online Agnoscis Journal.
