Williams creates paintings that are psychologically arresting and visually alluring. Rendering a precarious dichotomy of delicate aesthetics and uncanny disquiet, his paintings both challenge and seduce our common expectations of fleshly reality.
With each painting there is a common strategy by which I not only play with the paint to have visual breakthroughs, but also attempt to depict a psychological state or an aspect of human nature, symbolically, by means of physical manifestation. They could be viewed as veridical glimpses that rest at least one layer behind an illusion.
