51° 2' 34.98" N Cartridge

By  Liz Clifford 2014

Liz Clifford

This work is part of a series that combines found objects with natural forms and drawing. The GPS coordinates embedded in the drawing refer to the location where this shotgun cartridge and piece of barbed wire were found. Stumbled upon during the artist's daily walk in the landscape, they hint at the violence of human recreation with specific reference to pheasant shooting. The cycle of lost and found continues as the artist embeds the objects into chalk from the same location and subsequently scrutinizes further through the process of drawing. Drawing and objects are displayed in close proximity underlining this link.
