A_Minor Injury by Medical Museum
“Medical Museum is Hang Linton and Laura Lulika, long term collaborators and interdependent carers based in Leeds, UK. Both grew up on a diet of rave, jungle, metal, hip hop and breaks, rpg games and a wayward era of internet access. In this new metamorphosis, influenced by dungeon and fantasy synth, Medical Museum conjures med-synth: Alchemical sounds for anyone who has ever been made to feel like an artefact, an experiment or a casualty of the medical industrial complex.”
Our first track was comissioned by AO Roberts for a compilation of Deaf and disabled artists titled, PPI: Plants Properties Equipment and became the soundtrack to a videogame of the same name available on Steam.
In previous forms we have performed together at festivals, theatres, art centres and squats across Europe but due to health related barriers, this is no longer possible. Send+Receive Sound Art Festival in Canada invited us to perform in a format that would be accessible to us so we recorded a performance in our basement at home. We are accompanied by sign performer, Gaitri Persaud-Killing.
