‘A Portrait of Us’, was created in celebration of the 45th Anniversary of The Avenues Youth Project in London W10, commissioned by The Avenues Youth Project.
Working in collaboration with the project team we set out to capture portraits of as many staff, youth workers, leaders, alumni & young people associated with this brilliant community hub on Third Avenue & Droop Street.
Over 6 months hundreds of images were assembled into a monumental photographic collage of 45m2 digitally formatted which now adorns the back wall of the dance studio depicting people, heritage, architecture, local landmarks, wildlife, trees & plants from the vicinity.
The Aves was recently in the news when a major new youth initiative was launched there during a visit by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. Everyone had their photo taken against the new artwork backdrop, instantly becoming a part of the new life of the artwork.
