Aegis One follows the Gadfly series and its theme of protection. Is it a feeling, a metaphor, a representation, a sign? There is always extra meaning in the interpretation of a painting and a probability of expediences in its creation. For this painting the expedient use of a split tube of expensive and irreplaceable artists’ quality Antwerp Blue oil paint influenced the colour choices.
