An improvisation with materials

By  Lucy Casson 2024

An assemblage installation spanning over several large surfaces with  hanging elements .Realized on a small scale this art installation is made up of materials collected and constructed(  including ceramic, soap, wax, found objects, metals, building materials) into small buildings, parts of buildings and structures. The  work was made in an improvised way of depictions of memories of buildings and spaces along with imagined environments. The wide range of materials used reflects my interest in materials ,their different qualities and how I can use them for construction. I have been observing buildings for many years now and been involved in building works ,this has percolated down to this need to find a way to represent my feelings about spaces i have been in or sometimes imagined or dreamt .
