'An indescribable essence ii'

By  James Eddy 2015
'An indescribable essence ii' is a smaller version of the original installation created for the exhibition representing Cornwall at the Inter Celtic festival in Lorient, Brittany, 2015. This piece was created to be exhibited with the Ankemmyn Collective, firstly at the Fish Factory in Falmouth, in October 2015. Then at Lys Kernow, Cornwall's county hall in Truro, November 2015 to February 2016. And finally at The Workhouse, in Llanfyllin, Wales, in April 2016. The sculpture follows a similar tradition to that expressed in Zen gardens, in that they are designed for contemplation and meditation. In this case the work was designed for contemplating how the natural environment, particularly the Sea and bleak landscapes characteristic of all Celtic countries. And how it profoundly influences the people who live there, shaping and creating culture and tradition.
