A group of community volunteers wanted an uplifting symbol to keep them going during the long-term renovation of an early Victorian orchard in the heart of Cheshire. They organised workshops at Lymm High School and, inspired by studying maquettes of the artist's previous work, the students enjoyed producing numerous drawings and experimental scale models, which were then exhibited locally. Adrian then further developed the most popular ideas and made three maquettes for the community group to consider. The result was a quirky tree sculpture specifically intended for local families to adorn with seasonal decorations
