Attempts on a still life 2

Attempts on a Still Life depicts a contrast to familiar ideas of the 'dead' still life, and the ingenious liveliness of two little human beings which appear like baroque putto-angels. The still life presented in the film appears at first like a traditional baroque scene, with iconography from historical paintings of skulls, candles and knives. However, two children arrive, astonished at what they have found, and innocently play with the fruit and flowers laid out before them. They go on to eat, drink and break up the composition and arrangements of the objects.
