Bcalm

By Maria Kuipers 2013 - 2015

Maria Kuipers

Bcalm has a history of transition starting from 2013 when I exhibited this painting in a solo show in London, Thomas and Paul Gallery. Returning after the show I modified the painting by simplifying the complex array of shapes and making subtle changes to the colour values. Then in early 2015, post West Pier Art project, I changed it again. Materials and techniques used within a layering process, were painting, incising, scraping, sanding sgraffito, fabric and paper collage, tapestry, and stitching, amongst others.
